Three Suffolk Salons Win Big at The Salon Awards 2021

Three Suffolk salons have won accolades at The Salon Awards this week. Heavenly Hair and Quay Street Collective collected two awards each and SIR & Co Barbers won an award for Barber of the Year.

The Salon Awards were set up in 2017 to champion industry excellence. The awards command an impressive audience and reputation with industry peers. They offer the chance for salons, hairdressers and barbers to be recognised for their amazing work in their local area.

Heavenly Hair, based in Saxmundham, was awarded the Best Salon in Suffolk. Trainee hairdresser, Emma Herrieven from Heavenly picked up the prize for Apprentice of the Year

Heavenly Hair & Amaya Spa opened in 2015, specialising in all types of haircuts and colours, occasion hairstyles and beauty treatments. The luxury salon is a member of the Fellowship of British Hairdressing and is a 5 Star Good Salon Guide. The team are no strangers to awards and won Best Salon and Most Sustainable Salon in The Salon Awards last year.

Quay Street Collective (QSC) was named Most Sustainable Salon and Best New Salon after an incredibly successful first year in business.

QSC opened in Woodbridge in August 2020 with a focus on eco-friendly and sustainable hairdressing. The stylists give detailed, personalised consultations for every client – covering colour, cut and bespoke hair treatments. A lot of research has gone into sourcing the right products and furniture to ensure a luxurious and contemporary customer experience.

Tris Curling from SIR & Co Barbers was awarded Barber of the Year. This continues a fantastic year of accolades for the team as the Modern Barber recently named team member Alexander Sullivan as Best Apprentice.

SIR & Co celebrated its third anniversary in Aldeburgh in October. The barbershop specialises in all types of haircuts, from the classic, short back and sides, to trending styles, fades, quiffs and wet shaves. The team are incredibly versatile and deliver great service with the highest attention to detail to all gents. In 2020, the team were selected as a finalist in the Male Grooming Salon/Barbershop of The Year category at the British Hairdressing Business Awards.

Owner of the salons, Janene Hawkins Bush, said; “What a night we had at The Salon Awards! We had five amazing wins and it just goes to show that teamwork, and hard work, certainly has its rewards. I’m so proud of the teams from Heavenly Hair, SIR & Co and Quay Street Collective.”

Co-owner of Quay Street Collective, Sophie Thompson, said; “We had an absolutely amazing night at The Salon Awards 2021 and we came away with two wins, Best New Salon and Most Sustainable Salon! These are amazing achievements considering we’re so new to being open. We were up against some amazing salons, but it just shows that our hard work is paying off!”
