The Bloom Lounge
The Bloom Lounge is an Instagrammer’s heaven. This beautifully crafted bar café has been designed to be picture perfect in every possible angle, from the flowerdecked backdrops to the pretty plates of food.
You could be forgiven for forgetting this is Ipswich. There’s something very cosmopolitan and cute about the Bloom Lounge, the sort of place you might just find in Amsterdam, New York or London – comfortable with its quirkiness and confident with quality cocktails, coffee and food.
Since opening in December 2019, it’s been quietly growing a reputation for the in-place to be. The music is cool and eclectic, the low lighting and blossoms create a warm and easy atmosphere, and the fabulously friendly staff keep it real and approachable – this is a place to relax over a coffee or brunch, catch up over lunch, or drift through cocktails, pizzas and gorgeous plates to share.
The espresso martinis and pina coladas are created by cocktail maestro Luke, who has decades of experience at shaking and stirring. There’s a long and luscious menu to choose from, as well as boasting the first place outside of London to provide artisan tonic on tap for those fabulous G&Ts we all love so much.
Come for brunch and choose from the likes of truffled wild mushroom benedict, avocado toast, chicken and waffles, croque madame or shakshuka. For lunch or dinner try the stone baked pizzas or the fantastic plates to share.
Bountiful and delicious and superbly crafted dishes, like the three little steak sliders with smoky bacon jam, comté and truffle mayo, or the king prawns in a spiced tomato sauce with grilled sourdough. There’s gorgeous baked camembert with focaccia and red onion marmalade, or the moreish sesame glazed chicken wings with spring onion and coriander.
Try the teriyaki chicken bao with pickled cucumber and toasted sesame or wild mushroom arancini with feta. There are vegan and gluten free options too. At around £6 a plate this tapas-style eating is a fabulous way to indulge in some favourites and try out a few new taste sensations too.
The beautiful Bloom Lounge deserves a visit. Blooming lovely and definitely one for the album.
