On a bright but blowy Sunday we headed to Felixstowe to sample the Sunday Roast at Marco Pierre White Steakhouse having heard lots of good things about it and they didn’t disappoint.

On arrival we were met by Andrew Vales the General manager and offered a glass of Prosecco. The venue was very busy with all the tables booked, there was ambient music playing and a buzzy atmosphere.

The staff were smart & wore gloves for the service which was what you would expect for a restaurant of this standard.

There was a great selection of wines and we were recommended to try the Fuedi Salentini, 125 Uno Due Cinque Primitivo del Salento, it was a very good recommendation.

For starters we ordered the Colonel Mustard Scotch Egg & the Crispy Devilled Whitebait, both arrived in good time & both delicious. The Scotch egg was served on an English Mustard sauce & was cooked to perfection with a runny yoke. The whitebait was served with sauce tartare & a fresh lemon which had a net over it so no fear of eating a pip.

Our main courses were Roast Sirloin of Beef and the Roast Loin of Pork again both were cooked to perfection & the beef was cooked to the requested tenderness. They were both served with a choice of Koffman Roast Potatoes, Pigs in Blankets, Yorkshire Pudding, Box-tree Red Cabbage, Buttered Garden Peas, Chanteney Carrots, Sage & Onion Stuffing & Madeira Roasting Juices. The vegetables were served in separate cast iron lidded pots. The staff were polite at all times & the service was impeccable.

There was a good choice of desserts, something for everyone & if you don’t have a sweet tooth there is an option for cheese & biscuits. We decided on the warm chocolate brownie which was served with Chocolate ice cream and a warm chocolate sauce whilst the Baked New York Cheesecake was served with Blueberries.

We had an enjoyable experience and would highly recommend the restaurant for a Sunday Lunch & can’t wait to try the other menus.

They are currently offering in their pub (adjoined), The Queens’s Head, Roast & Pint for £19.50 on Sundays between noon & 4.30pm (not suitable for children).
