Suffolk Meadow: A Fresh Scoop of Happiness!

Here at the office, we long for the upcoming summer days where we can, hopefully, be outside and enjoying the sun once more. For now, why not capture that summer feeling by ordering yourself a creamy tub of Suffolk Meadow ice cream or sorbet.

Suffolk Meadow is a luxury artisan ice cream and sorbet company established over 30 years ago, by David and Colette Strachan in 1989. The company made its start in the farmhouse kitchen and has now been scooped up by their daughter Katherine Manning.

All products are made at the ‘ice creamery’ in Walpole and the full range includes over 20 standard hand-made flavours of ice cream, a wide selection of sorbets, frozen yoghurt, plant-based frozen desserts and celebration ice cream cakes- all that is more than enough to get anyone’s sugar cravings going!

The aim of the company has always been to be responsible and sustainable – caring for the environment, customers, and suppliers and that’s why the milk used in their delicious desserts are all sourced from E S Burroughs & Sons, near Beccles, where there is a focus on happy and healthy cows and animal care. It’s the belief in the quality and freshness of the ingredients and recipes that makes Suffolk Meadow Ice Cream one of the best in the East of England.

Being in full control of the production process makes it possible to produce pretty much any flavour required.  Custom requests completed to date include but in no means limited to; Blue Cheese, Eton Mixed Berry Mess, Pink Lemonade Sorbet, Carrot Cake, Prune & Armagnac, Aspalls Blush Cider Sorbet, Lemon Curd- yum!

Products are available at a range of retail outlets, scooping parlous and restaurants/pubs across Suffolk and North Essex. They also now offer a click & collect service for Walpole, which you can order from here and please contact Katherine on 01986 899320 for further information.
