Meet: Nellie’s Wax Shop

Nellie’s Wax Shop is a new business, started in lockdown by husband and wife team, Luke & Jessie Bridgman. They began by wanting to create a business they could work at from home, but have succeeded in creating a really successful new brand.

Vanilla asked Luke, in between making batches of melts, how it all started….

“At Nellie’s Wax Shop we create highly scented wax melts made with love, care and a dash of sparkle. Just over three months ago we purchased a small mould to make some 30g bars for our own use, we could only make three at a time! We then offered some out to some family and friends. A few weeks later (after very popular demand) we started Nellie’s wax shop (named after our daughter).

“We made everything from home in our kitchen with a small double boiler and our downstairs was taken over by wax melts, packaging etc. So, we’ve moved the business to somewhere bigger and now have big wax melting machines and the capacity to make 700 bars a day! Even with the volume we are making, we are still selling out every Friday (when we release new scents) within minutes! We have since stocked our products in shops and have had orders from all over the UK from Devon to Scotland! We have recently began stocking our products in Abigail’s Cards and Gifts in Dereham – it’s a really beautiful shop and a real hidden gem.

“We have our Christmas collection coming out November 6th, knowing that we can be apart of our customers Christmas holidays after all life has thrown at everyone this year, is something really heart warming!”
