Just Essentials: All Your Beauty Needs

Just Essentials has opened it’s familiar white-painted doors once more, allowing you to get all your beauty needs, whether it be for stocking fillers or for yourself!

The lockdown, as with every business on the high street, meant that Just Essentials had to temporarily close, meaning a loss of business over a typically busy period. Though, Charlotte Perkins, Operations manager at Mirage Cosmetics, saw it as an opportunity to build upon their online presence.

Charlotte said: “The Pandemic has, of course, impacted us, as our main business relies on footfall from the High Street. However, we have an ever-adapting and changing website, which we have been working hard on to ensure our customers can still get their favourite products with the customer service they deserve.”

In 2008, Charlotte took over the Just Essentials Store and turned it into a vibrant, quirky family-run independent cosmetic, hair extension & body jewellery store.

Just a year later, the store gained so much success that Just Essentials was able to open a Colchester store, followed by Kings Lynn and and Norwich.

The Ipswich Branch of Just Essentials

Despite their huge expansion, Just Essentials is still run by a father and daughter duo- Mathew and Charlotte Perkins. The store sells a wide range of beauty products, including branded and non branded make-up and cosmetics, high-grade body jewellery, human and synthetic hair extensions, and wigs, semi-permanent hair dye, fragrance, afro hair care, and most things beauty related, all at affordable prices. Our readers might be surprised to know that they also offer ear, nose, and body piercing, wig fitting and hair extensions fitting and braiding.

For those of our readers that aren’t experts at beauty, don’t worry- the amazing staff at Just Essentials have you covered, Charlotte explained: “Our number one priority is Customer Service, which is unique to us. You will always receive a smile, a friendly chat, and expert advice when you visit one of our stores. We never push people into buying products, we recommend and give specialist advice, then customers can make their own decisions.

“We try to stock niche products that are not widely available everywhere, we like to buy from Independent companies too. We ensure our products are sourced ethically, they are generally not tested on animals and our Vegan range is ever-growing. We welcome everyone from all backgrounds, genders, and races and encourage people to be individual but most of all be themselves.”

You don’t need to look far to hear all the glowing reviews about Just Essentials, Toria Grady saying: “If I could rate more than 5 I would! I went in a few months back as was going on a well-needed date night without baby, I don’t do my make up often so I was a bit worried about looking silly asking questions but the girls were AMAZING! Such a friendly group of people! Nothing was too much they answered every question I had and they even introduced me to stuff I didn’t think I needed! Been in a couple more times since and they always have what I want but have been told that if there’s anything I need and it isn’t on the shop floor to ask and they will try their best to get it in! Honestly could not fault them, beautiful shop, Friendly and approachable staff and beautiful products! Will definitely be back!”

Despite there still being some uncertainty surrounding this terrible pandemic, Charlotte is determined to keep her head up and her spirits high: “The positives are that we will not let Covid-19 defeat us, as long as we continue to provide great service, exciting niche products & services, and look after our customers our business will continue to grow.”
