Ipswich School ranked highly by The Sunday Times Schools Guide

Ipswich School is delighted to be named sixth in the top 10 independent schools in East Anglia as part of The Sunday Times Schools Guide 2022.

Commenting on this recognition Headmaster, Nicholas Weaver, said: “Our teachers have a genuine passion for their subjects and a steadfast belief in the potential of our pupils. If students enjoy their learning and are encouraged to be intellectually curious then results such as these will naturally follow.

“Our curriculum is deliberately extensive – 27 subjects at A-Level for example – such that our students benefit from a breadth of viewpoints and are able to discover their own passions. Likewise, our co-curriculum is threaded into the school day so that life skills, community service, sport, music and drama all contribute to the development of well-rounded, engaged and considerate young adults.

“Through the whole pandemic, this group of students have worked hard to achieve these results, and I am very proud of the way in which they have dealt with everything that has come their way – online learning, revisions to assessments and changes to what has been expected of them. I am also proud of the way in which our teaching staff have delivered an outstanding and comprehensive education through the most testing time, to ensure that our young people are well-prepared for the next stage of their journey.

“We are a very popular choice in East Anglia and whilst our excellent academic results contribute to this, we know that it is our exceptional co-curricular offering and the care we take for all in our community that makes us a destination school.”
