Introducing: EHJ Aesthetics

We caught up with Emily-Jane Hinton from EJH Aesthetics, a medically led facial aesthetics and skin clinic. The clinic was founded in 2017, but moved to its current location in June of this year. EJH Aesthetics is based in a discreet location just outside of Woodbridge and specialises in anti-ageing treatments for busy women who are looking to restore their self-confidence.

We spoke about what made her want to own a business, and why in Woodbridge. Emily explained “I am passionate about helping my clients become their most confident self to take on all the challenges of the world. I chose Woodbridge for the clinic as, apart from the five years spent at Sheffield University studying Dentistry, I have always lived in this area and absolutely love our amazing county. All my family live here and it will always be home for me.”

Next we asked what, in your opinion, gives you an edge over your competitors? Emily replied “The fact that I really care about the amazing women that I treat; I always listen to them about the results they are hoping to achieve and work with them on a plan to achieve it. The clinic will never be a conveyor belt for treatments. I want to spend time with my patients, really get to know them and give them that calm space for themselves before they head back out to their busy lives. Many of my patients have become good friends over the years and it is my absolute pleasure to treat them.”

Which leads nicely onto the discussion of what do you love about the job? “I love seeing the transformations of my patients. It is so rewarding being involved in their aesthetic journey. The women I have been treating for some time become like friends and it is fantastic when they recommend friends and family to come to the clinic too. A high proportion of patients return for multiple treatments and the majority of new patients find me via word of mouth recommendations.” Says Emily.

Evidently the pandemic has impacted on everyone, but how has it impacted on your business and how did you adapt to survive? “Sadly the clinic was shut down during lockdown but I kept in contact with new and existing patients via online consultations. Sales of skincare products were high as people looked for alternatives to their in clinic treatments to keep them looking their best.”

We love good news stories, so what do you think the positives are for the coming months? “During lockdown I loved having the extra time to spend with my 18 month old son, to really watch him grow and develop. I feel so lucky that we live in this glorious place where we have so much beautiful nature on our doorstep. The positives for the coming months will be observing the change in the seasons (Autumn is my favourite month) and appreciating the simple things in life more.”

Finally, we think it’s great when local independent businesses can big up others, so do you have a local ‘hidden gem’? “At the moment, I am loving ‘Blue Salt’ – great food, atmosphere and service. I particularly love their breakfast menu.”
The clinic offers Medical skincare, Chemical peels, Dermaplaning, WOW fusion, Anti-wrinkle treatments, Dermal fillers, Lip enhancement and Profhilo.
