Handmade Wooden Christmas Trees Raise Money For Charity

The Fulcher family is rocking around the Christmas tree this year in the most fantastic way!

This festive season provides the perfect opportunity to spread the Christmas cheer and that’s exactly what one young boy in Ipswich is hoping to do, with some trusty tools and a pallet of wood in hand.

Ashton Fulcher

Thirteen-year-old Ashton Fulcher has been creating beautifully handcrafted wooden Christmas trees to raise funds for a cause close to the Fulcher family’s heart.

Just recently, Ashton lost his uncle, lovingly nicknamed Sprock, who sadly passed away in September. Wanting to create something he knew Sprock would love, Ashton began transforming some sturdy donated wooden pallets into fantastically festive Christmas trees, the perfect gift for a loved one this Christmas.

Ten percent of the profit from each tree will go to Geewizz, a charity that supports children and young adults across Suffolk and Norfolk who are learning disabled or neurodivergent, have a life-limiting illness or cancer. Geewiz aims to supply the best equipment for every child and young adult they support in order to enhance and improve the quality of life for them, their families, and friends.

So far, Ashton’s trees have been a huge hit, one customer of his stating, “It’s perfect, I absolutely love them!”

Ashton’s dad and grandad have been on hand to help collect pallets from different businesses and strip them ready for Ashton to use. Ashton has always had a passion for crafting; building and selling hedgehog, hamster, rat and birdhouses from a young age, he even made a shoe rack for one customer!

So, it came as no surprise to his mother, Anna Fulcher, when Ashton decided to take on this huge project, which he uses his free time after school and weekends to do.

Anna said on her son’s project: “We want him to learn that if he works hard, he can make his own money, which we hope will get him far in life. We also want to teach him the importance of giving back to those in need in the community. We’re so proud of all his hard work.”

These bespoke, handmade Christmas trees can be beautifully decorated with solar fairy lights or tinsel. They can also be weatherproofed and used to create a jolly and festive display outside any home.

So, if you’re looking to support a fantastic cause this year, why not grab yourself one of Ashton’s merry gifts?

Ashton’s pallet tree’s can be purchased in a small size (roughly 90cm tall) for £15 or medium (roughly 110cm tall) for £25. To purchase your own tree, please contact anna@intouchnews.co.uk or head to Ashton’s Facebook page, Pallet-teen.
