Claydon Executive Travel Helping You Travel In Style

Michael Stevenson established Claydon Executive Travel in 2016 with just one car but just four years later the company has a fleet of 10 including cars, minibus and coaches which can be used by individuals or groups of up to 16 for airport, seaports, group outings or any long-distance destination.

The service is particularly popular with people travelling for business and with holidaymakers who want to travel in comfort but don’t want to pay ‘executive’ rates, as Michael explains:

“Executive travel has always been regarded as a luxury and the rates charged by national providers feed into that misconception. We set out to provide an affordable alternative but without compromising on comfort or service and our success proves we have achieved the perfect balance. We have many regular clients, usually people taking flights for work but also people going on holiday who’ve discovered how much easier and economical it is to be dropped off and picked up at the airport or at meetings or holiday venues in the UK.”

Complimentary bottled water is provided in all the vehicles and Michael and his team go the extra mile (no pun intended) to provide a tailor-made service whenever possible, such as decorating buses for birthday or anniversary trips.

“We get a lot of group bookings for days out to events, such as the races, concerts or even Christmas Markets, but also for one-off celebrations such as birthdays and hen nights, which our drivers love. It’s always great to be able to make an outing a little bit extra special by providing a comfortable journey and being on-hand to make the outing run as smoothly as possible. Our drivers do so much more than drive from A to B. They take care of our customers and meet their every need until we drop them safely home again.”

Of course, 2020 hasn’t been easy for anyone in the travel industry and bookings have dropped off considerably at Claydon Executive Travel.

“The first lockdown was heart-breaking as so much of our regular clients were forced to cancel work trips and the holiday trade dried up completely. However, we quickly adapted to provide short distance travel, taking people to do their shopping, transferring people to stay with family members elsewhere in the country, or picking up prescriptions on their behalf when they were forced to self-isolate. The number of longer journeys we make is slowly increasing again but we’re continuing to provide a local service too, with all the required safety measures in place including masks, hand sanitiser and screens in some of the vehicles.”

Although things are a little quieter than normal, we know that everyone is going to want a holiday soon when it is safe to do so, even if this is next year! We will then be here to help with their transport needs. This is something we have noticed with summer 2020 bookings most of them have re booked us for later this year or next!

Michael is confident about the future, buoyed by news of vaccines being rolled out and by the positive feedback the company has received in recent months.

“Many more people now understand that ‘executive’ travel is within their means, is easy to book and does make travel, whether local or long distance, much more pleasant. Of course, we look forward to seeing our regular customers again and to getting all our vehicle out on the road every day we we used to, but in the meantime we’re building a new client base and we’re very grateful to everyone who has supported our business this year. You definitely don’t need to carry a briefcase to be a Claydon Executive Travel customer.”
