Now lockdown restrictions in Norfolk have eased, and with just three weeks to go until Christmas Day, Chantry Place has reopened to offer visitors late night shopping, pop up shops, over 90 fantastic shops, cafés, and restaurants, and a chance to have a selfie in the ‘Tunnel Of Stars’!
As well as brands including Apple, Zara, Disney and House of Fraser, and homegrown names like Langleys toy shop and Lisa Angel, five new pop ups have arrived for the festivities. The Calendar Club, at Chantry Place until 10 January, offers a huge range of calendars, diaries, planners, stationery and books, while The Wiltshire Cheese and Chilli Company is in the centre until Christmas Eve. The Amazing Chocolate Workshop will be tempting shoppers with a delicious range of themed sweets and chocolates until the centre closes on Christmas Eve, plus Bullards Spirits will be at Chantry from 3 December with the brand’s collection of artisan gins and gifts.
Outside on Chantry Square until 27 December, visitors can purchase handcrafted garlands, angel wings, door wreaths, opulent festive trees, and candles and diffusers from Pollyfields. The ‘tunnel of stars’, featuring three giant gold stars visitors can walk through and take a Christmas selfie in, has added some sparkle to Chantry Square and brought many smiles to Norwich shoppers during lockdown, with the stars proving a hit on social media! Chantry Place has also confirmed that it is extending its opening hours for late night Christmas shopping in December, opening from 9am to 7pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, 9am until 8pm on Thursdays and 10am to 5pm on Sundays. Restaurants at Chantry Place will also be offering diners some tasty treats, like Byron with a mince pie milkshake and mac and cheese baubles!
Chantry Place’s marketing manager, Sheridan Smith, said: “Chantry Place is very much open for Christmas and we’re working hard to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our visitors and team, to ensure everyone feels comfortable and relaxed shopping, dining and enjoying Chantry Place this year. Our ‘tunnel of stars’ has really lit up Chantry Square, bringing an added touch of Christmas magic for visitors. As well as the new pop up shops, our retailers offer lots of choice for gift buying or treating yourself, and our restaurants have some delicious festive dining options.”
Chantry Place recently welcomed Deichmann, Europe’s biggest shoe retailer, to the centre last month. Deichmann stocks a range of women’s, men’s and children’s shoes, with unique and exclusive lines from brands such as adidas, Fila, Nike and Skechers. Visitors to Chantry Place are encouraged to use #itsachantrychristmas when sharing photos of the ‘tunnel of stars’ on Instagram.
As well as the sparkling stars outside on Chantry Square, festive decorations inside the centre include giant star and bauble hanging decorations, over 600 metres of icicle lighting, and a host of star-themed features which are lit up with over 60,000 LED lights.
