New Primadonna Podcast Series To Feature La Roux, Monique, Roffey And Pepsi And Shirlie Creating ‘The World As It Should Be’

From the team behind the Primadonna festival – a summer showcase of the best of the arts, including literature, music, film, theatre, food and comedy – the Primadonna podcast features amazing artists of all genders, and from diverse backgrounds, who have something interesting to say.

Each week, a guest will pick out three things they’d change to create ‘the world as it should be’, discussing their ideas with the pod’s co-presenters: book publicist Shona Abhyankar and writer (and festival director) Catherine Riley.

The podcast – appropriately called ‘The World As It Should Be’ – launches with Elly Jackson’s three picks. Perhaps better known as La Roux, Elly will be talking about what’s wrong with celebrity, the need for better conversations and, heatedly, London’s traffic management schemes in a wide-ranging conversation that also takes in her just-released EP, a cover of Gang of Four’s classic track Damaged Goods.

Other guests lined up for the series include Costa-winning writer Monique Roffey, pop duo Pepsi and Shirlie, author and journalist Lucy Mangan, writer and podcaster Juno Dawson, comedian and Funny Women runner-up Bronwyn Sweeney, and Sabeena Akhtar, editor and programmer for Primadonna, BareLit and WOW – Women of the World festivals.
