Review: primEVIL

You’re in for the fright of your life!

After a year’s hiatus, PrimEVIL, Norfolk’s biggest award-winning scare experience is back, and we were lucky enough to be able to get a glimpse at this year’s fest of frights…

Norfolk’s largest live Halloween event didn’t disappoint, bringing all the ghosts and ghouls out of the shadows for some much-needed fun and some well-earned spooks that are sure to get even the steadiest of hearts pumping in fear.

In this year’s PrimEVIL, you’re immediately greeted by intimidating figures just before the entrance. The actors and actresses immediately let you know what you’re in for by tracking you with their eyes and following close behind, their presence will have you constantly looking over your shoulder with a feeling of dread.

Straight off the bat, I’d like to applaud all of the cast and crew at PrimeEVIL, the dedication they have for their characters is unmatched. They’re able to have a joke with attendees while remaining intimidating, somehow managing to make the funniest of lines sound like a threat on your life. It’s clear they love what they do and are dedicated to ensuring you have the furthest thing from a boring night possible. The staff are also extremely helpful and are just as excited for you to experience everything PrimEVIL has to offer.

Don’t be surprised if you get the fright of your life while walking around the park, the actors will occasionally make you yelp and jump as they propel themselves out of a bush or out from behind a tree unexpectedly, keeping you constantly on edge. It’s certainly not for the faint of heart!

To calm your nerves for a bit, be sure to check out the hub-like area in the centre of the park which is filled with the most delicious food and drink stands, kindly supplied by Junkyard Market in collaboration with PrimEVIL. We highly recommend trying the crepes; they were to die for!

There were five different maze-like attractions available; all with varying degrees of spook. We won’t spoil anything for you, after all, it’s better experienced with a blind eye, but all the attractions had our hearts racing and had a friend and I gripping each other tightly as we walked through the attractions. Personally, I’d highly recommend the ‘Circus Of Terror’; it was really mind-melding and it took me a few seconds to recover!

Each attraction is themed differently, allowing for you to experience a wide range of scares with each one, to varying degrees of fear. It was so much fun to explore! From the hellish experience in ‘Route 666’ to the mysterious ghouls in ‘Crypt’, there’s something for everyone and it’s sure to keep you on your toes.

PrimEVIL is best experienced with a group of friends or family members, the larger the group, the more fun you’re bound to have as you walk through cramped hallways and meet the most intimidating figures on the way. So, grab some friends and go to Norfolk for a scarily fun, spine-chilling thrills- it’s not to be missed!
